Routes

Looking for some inspiration for your next ride? The Cowley Road Condors Komoot page is home to many tried and tested routes - short or long, time trial-flavoured or touring - so whatever you're after, we've got you covered. If you'd like to add to our Komoot route library, all you need to do is "invite" Cowley Road Condors to the route you've planned from your own account.

It's free to sign up for an account on Komoot, and you just need to 'save' a ride to your profile to be able to navigate it from your phone or bike computer via the Komoot app. If you set your home region to Oxfordshire it's also free to download route files (gpx / tcx) that start in Oxfordshire.

We have also gathered a few club favourites here, in particular for weekday evening rides:

Cumnor Classic

37km SW from Oxford. Includes an optional loop at Boar's Hill, which can be missed to make it a little shorter. Great for evening social rides.

Brill via Oakley

37km NE from Oxford to Brill - a climb that rewards you with a great view, a windmill, and sometimes a sunset! Great for evening social rides.

Otmoor Loop

45km NE from Oxford, out towards Ambrosden via Islip. Ideal for evening socials and strengtheners.

Long Crendon Loop

46km East of Oxford, out to Long Crendon with a few small climbs. Best suited to evening socials but could also be used for a strengthener.

Upper Heyford Loop

53km heading North from Oxford. A slightly extended version of The Milk Shed route - could be used with/without the café stop for weekend/evening socials.

Stonesfield Loop

52km dipping into the Cotswolds. A lumpy route suited to either a weekend outing or a summer mid-week social.

The Milk Shed

A firm Condor favourite - just under 50km via Islip, Kirtlington and Caulcott to The Milk Shed café after 32km at Weston-on-the-Green, then back to Oxford. Ideal for shorter weekend social rides and excellent ice cream at the café!

The Old Shed

64km out into the Cotswolds with a café stop at The Old Shed in Charlbury just after halfway. Perfect for a weekend social ride.

Condors Climber

A lumpy 57km route out to Long Crendon then looping back over Brill. Lots of short climbs to test the legs. Could be used at the weekend or for a longer mid-week option in the summer.

Bicester Screamer

A route designed specifically for screamer or strengthener rides - avoiding narrow lanes, sticking to slightly bigger roads, and minimising stoppages. Could also be used for socials but nicer social routes are available!

Didcot Screamer

A route designed specifically for screamer or strengthener rides - avoiding narrow lanes, sticking to slightly bigger roads, and minimising stoppages. Could also be used for socials but nicer social routes are available!
